Chinese Department was set up in 1978 and jointly started the undergraduate course class with the Guangdong Educational Institute and the Chinese Department of SouthChinaNormalUniversity in 1987 and 1997 respectively. In 2000, Chinese Department received the permission from the Education Ministry of China to have managed the undergraduate course by itself that is one of departments obtaining the qualification for undergraduate education in HuizhouUniversity. There are 14 professors and associate professors, 16 lecturers and 15 doctors and masters. There are 5 teaching office offering the Chinese Literature, Literature of the world and comparative literature, Linguistics, Literature and art and Dissemination of the news. Now there are about 1000 students.
