Garment Department was located at the bank of beautiful West Lake of Huizhou City. There are about 700 undergraduate and diploma students from 10 provinces in China and about 30 teachers including 8 professors and associate professors, 14 lecturers. There are 8 teaching labs: garment design, dress exhibition, ready-made dress technics, paper-pattern making, garment material test, garment CAD, knitting technology and audio and video.

Garment department has established the close relationship with some famous garment enterprises in China and in the world, and their well-known experts and enterprisers often launch academic exchange and lectures. Garment department has set up the cooperation with Hong Kong University of Technology, ManchesterCityUniversity and Manchester University of Technology in England in receiving advanced education for students, exchange visits for teachers and academic exchange
